In a coaching relationship, the coach does not give you advice or set you goals and tasks. The skill of the coach is in asking the right questions, in order to help you access the answers and solutions you have within you.
I usually start a new coaching relationship with an informal conversation about coaching, to find out what you want to get out of it, and to check we both feel we will get along.
